Destination Wedding – Aruba – Mellissa + Anthony – 5.13.2017
When my friend and fellow photographer Anthony got engaged and asked me to shoot his wedding I was so honored and excited. He told me that they had planned on having a destination wedding in Aruba and I became even more excited! I mean, i was excited already but when you throw an Island in to the mix…. Yahtzee!
Mellissa and Anthony have been together so long that it felt as if they were already married. Both of them are the type of people that would do anything for their friends and family. That became even more evident after seeing how many people came to celebrate in Aruba.
We all stayed in the same hotel, The Hyatt Regency. On the days leading up to the wedding we all spent time on the beach, in the water, having some cocktails, getting sunburn, and just enjoying each others company. It was such a pleasure to hang out with such fantastic people.
The wedding was on Renaissance Island, also know as Flamingo Island, a private island owned by the Renaissance hotel. It was gorgeous! Flamingos on the beach, sunset ceremony, and dinner / dancing under the stars. The coordinator, along with Mellissa and Anthony planned a wonderful event. The amount of work that goes in to planning a destination wedding is intense, and not many pan out exactly how you hoped they would, but Mellissa and Anthony nailed it! Honostly I was not surprised, Anthony is a hard worker and when he sets out to do something, he does it right or he doesn’t do it at all. Marrying Mellissa was one of those things that he did right.
